Our story

I’m Johanna, a local veterinarian working in South Taranaki. I originally come from Yorkshire in the United Kingdom and have been living in New Zealand since 2019. I studied veterinary medicine at The University of Edinburgh and graduated in 2016. I have always worked as a mixed-animal vet and absolutely love the variety each day can bring.

I created Paws Farewell to give Taranaki pet owners a peaceful and dignified end for our much-beloved pets; in their own home; a process I much prefer to do as a vet in a home environment but one regular vets don’t always have time for in our busy daily schedules.

I have a beautiful pup myself, called Nessie, who is my number one adventure buddy and companion. You’ll maybe see us walking around Lake Mangamahoe or exploring some of our amazing local beaches and we’re more than happy if you want to say hello to us.
