Paws Farewell are here to provide gentle and dignified end-of-life care for your beloved dog or cat in the comfort of your own home.

Our services are tailored to meet the individual needs of each pet and their family, ensuring a peaceful and loving farewell.

We offer a free no-obligation quality of life phone call, if you would like to chat through any questions then please do not hesitate to get in touch.

The Process

  • After arriving at your home, we will take some time to allow your pet to adjust to having a new visitor and go through any questions that you may have.

  • We will move at a pace that is comfortable for you and your family to ensure a peaceful process.

  • To provide a peaceful and stress free experience for your much loved pet, we will initially prepare a sedative injection. This allows them to be sleeping peacefully when we are all ready to say that final goodbye.

  • Once you are ready, the euthanasia medication will be administered and we will give you space to be with your pet during this time, for as long as you need.

  • Afterwards; we will help with your chosen aftercare option, for example, respectful transport of your pet through to the local pet crematorium.

Aftercare

If you do not wish to bury your pet at home then we are happy to assist with the organisation of cremation. We can help you decide on the different cremation options that are available as well as assist with transport arrangements.

We work closely with the pet cremation company, ‘Paws For Thought’ - they are a family owned and operated business in Egmont Village who display a high level of care and are passionate about all that they do. Paws For Thought offer a number of different cremation and memorabilia options to suit everybody’s needs. Please see their website for a full overview of their services.

If applicable; following your pet’s home euthanasia, we will take care of their transport through to the crematorium. We ensure that your pet is handled with care and respect throughout the entire process.

Cremation varies depending on the size/weight of your pet. Please feel free to contact us or Paws For Thought to organise a quote. We can organise the whole process or Paws For Thought can also offer this service depending on individual needs.

Pricing

Pricing varies depending on the size of your beloved dog or cat. Appointments generally cost between $320-$480 incl. GST (including call out, sedation and euthanasia).

Pre-payment is required before the visit.

Mileage and Aftercare services are additional.

Aftercare services can be arranged through Paws Farewell or directly with Paws For Thought, our local pet crematorium.

Cats and dogs <10kg - $320

Dogs 11-25kg - $370

Dogs 26-35kg - $430

Dogs >36kg - $480
